(Austin, TX – April 8, 2025) – On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, lawmakers and civil society leaders will hold a press conference at the Texas Capitol to introduce and speak in support of HB 4177 – The Freedom of Speech Act.
HB 4177 repeals state laws that restrict contracts with businesses based on political or economic beliefs, including boycotts. The bill reaffirms that political expression—especially through economic choices—is protected under the First Amendment.
