Data Management & Analytics Analyst

Position Summary

We are seeking a data-driven, detail-oriented professional with deep expertise in EveryAction (NGPVAN), SQL, and data visualization tools. The ideal candidate will lead data management, reporting, and insights across our digital and field programs to support strategic decision- making and improve organizational effectiveness

Key Responsibilities

Data Management & Integration

  • Manage and optimize our EveryAction database for organizing contacts, segmentation, tracking engagement, and campaign performance.
  • Ensure high standards of data hygiene, deduplication, and enrichment.
  • Integrate data across platforms (e.g., ActBlue, Mobilize, Google Sheets, etc.) for cohesive reporting.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Design and maintain SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from EveryAction and related systems.
  • Develop automated reports and dashboards to provide insights for outreach, fundraising, and advocacy teams.

Data Visualization

  • Build interactive dashboards using tools like Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio, or similar platforms.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear visuals and insights for non-technical stakeholders.

Collaboration & Training

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver user- friendly solutions.
  • Train staff and volunteers on basic data entry, tagging, and reporting best practices within EveryAction.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with EveryAction or NGP VAN (campaigns, tagging, reporting, workflows).
  • Advanced SQL skills for querying and managing relational data.
  • Proficiency in at least one data visualization tool (Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure data integrity. 
  • Experience in data cleaning, normalization, and transformation
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Familiarity with fundraising, advocacy, or political campaign data a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate technical findings into actionable insights.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative working style

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced experience with EveryAction beyond basic usage—such as custom queries, automation workflows, complex segmentation, and API integrations.
  • SQL, Python, R, or other data scripting languages.
  • Experience with digital engagement tools like Action Network, ActBlue, or Mobilize.
  • Understanding of grassroots organizing, civic engagement, or nonprofit advocacy.
  • Proven ability to contribute as a team player in cross-functional projects.
  • Comfortable working in fast-moving, mission-driven environments.
