Location: Durham-Chapel Hill area

Hiring: Immediately – $22-25/hour
Hours: Part time, up to 20 hours weekl

Join Our Team

We are building teams of dedicated, part time canvassers across Durham, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, and Apex to educate, engage, and mobilize our communities around our endorsed candidates for the upcoming 2026 primary election.

Canvassers will have one-on-one conversations with voters in their communities and at public events. These meaningful conversations will revolve around our progressive policies and candidates that are looking to improve the lives of those in our community, North Carolina, and the country. These conversations will require skills in relationship building, communications, problem solving, and adaptability.

Candidates will gain experience in: metric driven goals, communication & advocacy, community engagement, political campaigns, and relationship building.

Locations

Durham, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, and Apex, North Carolina We are hiring immediately, all positions run to early March. Hours may vary with weekdays and weekends being expected. Up to 20+ hours per week available.

Canvasser Responsibilities

  • Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner.
  • Deliver a compelling campaign message, and record responses from voters.
  • Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills.
  • Strictly follow the campaign’s safety protocols.
  • Door to door contact.
  • Distribution of campaign materials.

The ideal candidate

  • Passionate about the progressive politics and speaking with the community.
  • Strong communication skills; you should enjoy working with other people and be willing and excited to speak with everyone.
  • Hard worker who will stay motivated to engage as many people as possible
  • Open to new opportunities and interested in building campaign skills.
  • Culturally competent and able to respectfully engage with teammates and the community.
  • Can work and problem-solve collaboratively as necessary.
  • Prior experience working in a public-facing role like canvassing, petitioning, customer service, sales, or service industry is a plus

Pay: $22-25 per hour based on experience.
