Washington, DC — CAIR Action, a leading national Muslim political advocacy organization, today responded to President-elect Donald Trump encouraging Florida lawmaker Randy Fine to run for Congress by calling the openly racist, anti-American extremist unfit for Congress, noting that Fine has celebrated the murder of an American citizen, denied that Palestinians are people, and called on Islam to be banned from the state of Florida.
Basim Elkarra, Executive Director of CAIR Action, stated:
“Randy Fine is not an America First Patriot; he is an openly racist anti-American extremist who has literally celebrated the murder of an American citizen. President-elect Trump’s endorsement of Fine sends a disturbing message that the worst type of hate speech is acceptable in American politics. Fine’s track record of unhinged and hateful rhetoric—including calling Muslims ‘monsters,’ ‘terrorists,’ and ‘rapists’—along with his celebration of Israel’s killing of American activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, are completely disqualifying. He should never occupy a seat in Congress.”
Randy Fine has been widely criticized for his incendiary comments and actions, including:
● Vilifying Muslims: Referring to people of the Muslim faith as “monsters,” “terrorists,” and “rapists.”
● Harassment: Sending a private Instagram message to a Florida resident telling them to “Go blow yourself up!”
● Weaponizing Legislation: Using Florida’s HB1 and HB741 to target and threaten punishment against individuals and organizations advocating for peace, justice, and human rights for the Palestinian people.
● Celebrating Violence: Publicly supporting Israel’s killing of unarmed American activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi in the West Bank, with comments such as “Fire away.”

CAIR Action also supports CAIR-Florida’s ethics complaint calling for a nonpartisan investigation into Fine’s conduct, citing his repeated promotion of hate speech and misuse of power to silence dissent. Fine’s actions and rhetoric represent a dangerous escalation of xenophobia and Islamophobia that harm not only Muslim communities but also the broader fight for justice and civil rights.
“The endorsement of such a divisive figure by the President-elect raises serious concerns about the direction of American leadership and its impact on marginalized communities,” added Elkarra. “Elected officials from both parties must stand against this dangerous normalization of hate and affirm their commitment to upholding justice and equality for all.”
CAIR Action is a 501(c)4 organization. Our mission is to engage, educate, and mobilize Muslim voters, train emerging leaders, and champion policy priorities that enhance the well-being and representation of Muslim communities. Through our work, we aim to foster a more equitable and inclusive democratic society where the rights and voices of Muslims are acknowledged and respected.
